1935 Willys Model 77 Gasser

This is a highly modified 1935 Willys Model 77 coupe, transformed into a classic drag racing machine in the traditional “gasser” style. Originally a compact, lightweight two-door coupe from the mid-1930s, this example has been stripped down, lightened, and built specifically for straight-line performance on the drag strip. It is equipped with a 440 cubic-inch V8 and a four-speed transmission.

The body retains the iconic 1935 Willys chopped and channeled coupe shape with its distinctive rounded roofline and suicide doors. It sits noticeably higher in the rear with a pronounced rake, finished in a glossy taupe and bronze metallic paint that highlights the smooth, flowing fenders and subtle body modifications.

The wheels are modern polished aluminum five-spokes, with low-profile radial tires up front and wider rear meats for traction. The stance is an aggressive, nose-down drag racing attitude: front end lowered, rear raised, the classic gasser look. Smooth side panels carry period-correct vented portholes on the hood sides, a chrome bumper remains at the rear while the front bumper has been deleted, and the whole car has a clean, purposeful appearance that blends vintage aesthetics with modern drag modifications.
