It’s always been called the perfect blend of American performance and Italian style. But maybe the Pantera is really an all American kind of car!
In this edition of Automotive Revolution, Rick DeBruhl explores the origins of the Pantera and features a 1973 De Tomaso Pantera L that is part of the Martin Auto Museum collection.
The De Tomaso Pantera is a mid-engine Italian sports car that is powered by an American built 351 Cleveland V8, mated to a 4-speed transmission and making 330 horsepower. There were more than 7,000 manufactured over its 20-year production run, with 5,500 imported to the U.S. and sold through Lincoln Mercury dealers.
Next time you are at the Martin Auto Museum, be sure to check out this rare vehicle.
